Twasiima Bigirwa is an African writer and artist born and bred in present day Uganda. She believes deeply in the power of words and language, and the use of both in shifting collective consciousness and imagining new ways of being in our modern times.
Twasiima spent much of her earlier life serving in different ways as a community mobiliser and organiser, experiences which have shaped and continue to ground her. She believes in the work of movements that exist on the peripheries of society as crucial to our collective liberation.
She is the author of two collections of poems; ebyeshongoro bya Debra and okwetonganira kwa Stefie.
Twasiima has an LL.B. from Makerere University and an LL.M. from Georgetown University – Law Center.
