let this be a day of sabbath

lain here, a doing of my own
a collection of chaff from the world
tears my own and ours
even then I must handle with caution. This hour too, demands our tenderness.

the pleas of my own body I must heed.

slower, please. there have been hints and whispers.

but the days. the days and the demands of the days.

the days demand

push, just a little more.
a dance we do for moons and moons
finally,
in defiance she sends back
even gods must care for this flesh.
even gods must know rest too.
